RADICISPANDEX CORPORATION INTRODUCES SPANDEX TYPE S-PC FOR DISPOSABLE PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS

Fall River, MA, April 2004 -- RADICISPANDEX CORPORATION announces the launch of a new line of spandex products designated S-PC that have been engineered and manufactured specifically for the Disposable Personal Care Products market. Leveraging technology, industry experience and cost savings resulting from streamlined production processes; RadiciSpandex calls this new product line S-“PC” … indicating its focus on “Personal Care” applications.

The improvements in manufacturing of these focused S-PC spandex fibers includes improved polymer purification, transition away from batch processes and toward homogenized/semi-continuous processes, automation, improved bobbin winding techniques and better raw materials. In the three years since Radici Group acquired the company, the transition has been steady. In mid-2001, the S-7 product line was immediately rationalized to focus solely on Personal Care Disposable applications. Then, over $5 million in engineering design and capital equipment improvements were applied between 2001 and 2004 to overhaul the polymerization and spinning platforms. Meanwhile, raw materials suppliers were challenged to make improvements in both performance and cost. The results are enhanced products, improved consistency and runnability, better packaging and a cost structure that competes globally.

Stabilization of these process and business improvements has now been achieved. The official recognition of all of these improvements and focus is the formal re-designation of the product line as S-“PC”. The transition will be seamless to those customers already engaged in Personal Care programs with RadiciSpandex. Accounts will be individually notified when they will begin to see product with the new markings and designations. New customers are welcome to sample RadiciSpandex to experience the difference and value.
